CrossFit Achievements in 2018 so far

2018 has had a bumper start so far; I’ve managed to get a few achievements before we are even a quarter of the way through the year. I’m still not 100% sure why I’ve managed to achieve them now instead of earlier, but none the less here they are.

In January we started a food program run by our CrossFit Box (CrossFit Box Hill), I’d tried many different food programs in the past – Macro’s, Keto, Calorie Controlled etc. But none would stick for the long term, for me they weren’t sustainable and involved a lot of time overheads in measuring meals.

This one has stuck, 8 weeks in. I won’t go through all the details, but the food measurements are super easy and involved ½ cup of starchy veggies, ½ cup of protein, unlimited other vegetables. Eating food in its natural form – what I mean is you can have potatoes – just no potato chips/fries. You can have chicken, just not chicken thats processed.

In the last 8 weeks I’ve dropped 7kg, to give you an idea here are my measurements from  2016 (I’d just started crossfit, January when I started the food program and then the 6 week mark). The results speak for themselves, at present I’m 78.8kg.

Another goal of mine was also with CrossFit where I’d aimed to get a bar muscle up for so long. One morning I went to the gym and was practicing gymnastics and all sorts of things for the 2018 Open. At a last ditch I tried a bar MUP, and there it was!

As always there are more goals, another is for a ring muscle up (hopefully tonight in 18.3!) and to finally get doubleunders properly.
