Last week I had the pleasure of attending and doing a short presentation at a STEM workshop for Teachers. It was a free workshop run over 2 days by Christian Williams, he is a teacher here in Melbourne, Australia that has been recognised as one of the worlds best.
The workshop was about integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the normal everyday classroom as a part of literacy, reading, writing. At the same time not making it so scary to tackle, even if you have never done engineering.
Here are some of the pictures from the two days.
The workshop was hosted as Swinburne’s KIOSC facility – which is a specialist Science & Tech facility used by local and visiting schools. We had a mixture of Science experiments, Technology activities – Coding, Raspberry Pi and some guest speakers showing us how to raise money for resources, talk to us about the possibilities and showing us interesting tools such as Lego Mindstorm.
On the last day, some students came in and we worked with them and did a lesson for them each. Mine is below, Enjoy!
