My favourite hidden garden

Over the last week I have been a little unwell. (perfect timing for going away to Everest with right!)

The first few days off work I was too sick to even walk to the kitchen, after the 5th day I was getting sick of being inside and my body was crying out for some fresh air and to be in nature. Even if only for a little bit.

So the next day, I went for a short drive to my favourite place in Melbourne, Alfred Nicolas gardens. It’s located up in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.

There is so much to look at in the gardens and it continually changes throughout the year. It doesn’t matter if the weather is -5 degrees or 35 degrees, the gardens are immaculate.

Down the bottom of the gardens there is a beautiful lake, this is my favourite spot. It’s easy to see why.

Being in nature is one of the most relaxing things, you can disconnect from everything else that is going on and just tune-in to whats happening right there an then, the colours, the sound of the birds chirping in the trees, the sounds of waterfalls and rivers.

The part is around a 50 minute drive from the CBD, there aren’t too many facilities there (just toilets and a limited water fountains), its the perfect place to take a picnic and just chill or go for a walk.

Do you have any favourite spots you like to go?
